Serendipitous Journeys

Family of 6, downsized our lives & became Fulltime RVers traveling the country.

Locations that we have stayed at during our travels. These will include RV Parks, Boondocking sites, as well as Walmart’s that allow overnighting.  The reviews found here are our personal opinions and nothing more.

Savannah, GA – Hunter Army Airfield Military Campground

August 2015 — The MWR at this base is almost impossible to reach because that’s just how most things seem to operate at this Army base (as we learned while being stationed here for almost 5 years).  There was no camp host, no lights overhead (only dim lights on the hookup podium at each spot), and lots of giant Live Oak trees that the dirt/gravel road winds in and out of, with muddy areas to get stuck in.  There were only 16 spots in this park, and many were taken already, but we found a spot that was perfect for us.  The wifi here is awesome!  The only amenities to this campground is the internet, and full hookups.  This little park is nestled into the giant Live Oaks and Pines all dripping with Spanish Moss on the Lott’s Island side of the base.  It’s right at the very edge of the city on the south side across from the Savannah Mall, so you get a mix of city noises on one side, with forest and lots of critters all on the other side.  We enjoyed our stay there very much, despite the multitude of ants — which is a given in Savannah.  We even saw deer wandering around a time or two.
